Mr. Poon is a non-executive director of Tai Chong Cheang Group, a member of advising committee of Asia Pacific Institute for Strategy and a board advisor of Clean Air Network.
He was formerly an independent non-executive director of AAC Technologies Holdings Inc., the group managing director and deputy chief executive officer of Tai Chong Cheang Group, and managing director and deputy chief executive of Hang Seng Bank Limited, and held senior management posts in HSBC Group and a number of internationally renowned financial institutions.
Mr. Poon was the former chairman of Hang Seng Index Advisory Committee, Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited, a former member of the Board of Inland Revenue of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Environment and Conservation Fund Investment Committee, and a former committee member of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong.
Mr. Poon holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Australia, is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Poon is also a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors. He was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Company in January 2010. He is aged 69.
