Say Hello to the Warmer Months at Lee GardensAttractions
The past weekends have been getting warmer here at Lee Gardens, just in time for spring!
On the last weekend of March, we kicked off the annual Lee Gardens Egglette Festival, where the renowned egg-based street snack was once again the star of the show. Dozens of flavours from sweet to savoury attracted thousands of revellers. There were also performances, including a preview of Bug Symphony by the City Chamber Orchestra, with all members in their fabulous costumes, as well as a visit by Rugby Sevens legend D.J. Forbes to promote the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens.
Speaking of Hong Kong’s flagship sporting event, Lee Gardens was again home to the event’s Fanwalk. The most striking part of the show was the Ninja course for sporty adults and kids, with Ninja Coalition’s famed ex-Olympian member, Jonathan Horton, and Hollywood stunt person, Tiana Webberley, providing hours of entertainment and guidance to excited participants. The three-day festival also included a big screen for live Sevens broadcasts, as the crowd cheered on the Hong Kong team who made it to the final of the qualifiers. Fiji was another crowd favourite, and plenty of fans were happy to see them crowned the best team here in Hong Kong again. Great food, spectacular street performances, as well as a crowded kids’ corner summed up another weekend of fun and games here at Lee Gardens.
As a property developer and investor that has been a key part of Causeway Bay for 96 years, we have made many positive contributions to the community. A lot of our in-mall activities are not just retail exercises, but fun events that provide entertainment for all ages. During April and May, for example, Marvel fans will be able to view full-size Avenger statues throughout the Lee Gardens portfolio. Even the tiny Ant-Man will make an appearance. To showcase the full line of Avengers’ products, Hot Toys will have a pop-up store at Hysan Place—something you simply cannot miss!
Looking ahead to August, Lee Gardens will again partner with the Hong Kong Ballet to preview a brand new performance right here in the heart of the city. Last year’s Alice in Wonderland parade was something to behold, and dancers and their parents had a wonderful time here at Lee Gardens. So what will be the theme this year? You will soon find out through Lee Gardens’ promotional channels.
Throughout the year, we continue to have monthly children’s theatrical performances, and the Absolutely Fabulous Theatre will return for the remaining months of 2019 to stage the ever-popular Aesop’s Fables. Lee Garden Two has become the home of quality children’s entertainment, with the Young Readers’ Festival, Kidsfest, Youth Arts Foundation and City Chamber Orchestra also joining us to provide free entertainment from time to time. So come by to Lee Gardens during the warm spring/early summer months, and enjoy the best the season has to offer!
